Welcome back to your In The City recap!

In last week’s episode, Yvonne and Nick tied the knot … again. But the pair’s celebration quickly descended into chaos, with the cast’s focus being on everyone and everything but the bride and groom. Yvonne and Danielle clashed over the latter’s outfit choice, while Kyle and Amanda butted heads over their failing relationship.

So, what happened next? Here’s exactly what went down in In The City Episode 8: “Caught in the Crossfire.”

What happened in In The City Episode 8?

In The City Episode 8 – titled: “Caught in the Crossfire” – saw the cast headed to Connecticut for a Friendsgiving vacation. But things weren’t exactly friendly amongst the group. Lindsay and Georgina’s decision to take the primary suite wasn’t well received by Whitney, who accused them of playing “the single mom card.” Elsewhere in the episode, Kyle and Amanda’s marriage continued to deteriorate. This resulted in yet another dinner that served more drama than anything edible.

Here’s how it all went down…

The group got out their frustrations

After the disastrous wedding dinner in last week’s episode, there was a lot of tension between the group. Kenny confessed to feeling let down by Gavin’s lack of support in his relationship with Whitney. Meanwhile, Yvonne expressed disappointment at how much time Lindsay spent talking about Kyle and Amanda rather than the bride and groom. Things between Lindsay and Danielle weren’t much better either, with the two failing to repair their friendship.

It’s no surprise then that when the group turned up to a paintballing session, frustrations were ready to be let out. When choosing her team, Lindsay confessed to picking everyone in the group who “might have an issue” with her to avoid being shot at. “Call me blonde, but don’t call me dumb,” she said.

The primary caused problems

Akin to any trip on the Real Housewives, the vacation rental’s primary suite caused trouble from the outset. In a confessional, Kenny and Whitney explained they intended for Yvonne and Nick to have the primary suite. This is because they wanted to offer an “olive branch” to help “make up for” their terrible wedding dinner. But Lindsay and Georgina had other ideas. They claimed the primary suite as their own. “We’re two moms who haven’t been away from their kids in a while,” the pair said when trying to justify to the rest of the group.

“They’ll get it when they become parents,” Lindsay added in a confessional upon seeing how the group reacted … which wasn’t exactly positive.

Whitney accused Lindsay

Following the situation with the primary suite, Whitney and Lexi debriefed on it. Whitney pointed out that things seemed frosty between Lindsay and Yvonne, and questioned why Lindsay wasn’t doing her best to make things “as smooth as possible” between them in light of the wedding dinner drama. “If you’re trying to make amends, you would have just made that small gesture,” she added of the room selection.

“That was definitely awkward,” Lexi agreed, to which Whitney replied: “She always plays the single mom card.” Whitney went on to accuse Lindsay of using that “excuse for everything.”

“I’m not saying that [Lindsay] doesn’t have a lot going on. Or that [being a single mom] isn’t a heavy issue … but she also has a lot of support around her, and not everyone else does,” Whitney continued. “There are single moms out there that don’t have a nanny, that don’t have family support, that don’t have friends around them.”

“It’s not a get-out-of-jail-free card for every single situation,” she concluded. “It’s getting annoying.” As Whitney let her feelings about Lindsay be known, Lexi clearly seemed uncomfortable. She replied that she hadn’t noticed Lindsay “using the single mom card too many times.”

Word quickly got back to Lindsay

As the girlies of In The City got ready for the evening, Lexi revealed to Amanda and Georgina what Whitney had said about the room situation. Both Amanda and Georgina were taken aback by Whitney’s accusation over the “single mom card.” They agreed she didn’t use as much as was implied.

“Give Whitney the advice of never saying that again this entire weekend,” Georgina advised her, aware of how Lindsay would react if she found out. That was a pretty useless point to make, however, as Georgina immediately told her bestie what had been said. “If I want to complain about being f*cking tired, I can,” Lindsay said in response. “Because what is she tired about, Pilates?”

In a confessional, Lindsay doubled down on that POV. “It must be a tough life going to Pilates and getting matcha every day. And begging your boyfriend for a closet,” she said of Whitney, while again defending her right to take the primary as it was a rare opportunity to get a good night’s sleep while away from baby Gemma.

Lindsay and Yvonne unpacked their problems

Having not spoken since the wedding dinner (which Lindsay pointed out was unusual, given that they normally talk “18 times a day”), Lindsay and Yvonne sat down to discuss their issue and make amends within their friendship. “From my perspective, you have always been the most supportive friend. If anyone was supposed to celebrate us, I wanted you to be that person,” Yvonne told Lindsay. “I didn’t feel like we had a friend at the table to stand up for us.”

“I was taking heat from every f*cking angle,” Lindsay replied. “It started with Amanda and Kyle. Then Danielle was screaming at me across the table,” she went on, arguing that the dinner was “derailed,” but not due to her own actions. “You literally blamed me for everything [that went wrong].”

The pair continued to clash over their differing opinion. Yvonne struggled to understand why Lindsay couldn’t simply apologize for being part of the drama at the celebration dinner. On the flip side, Lindsay expected an apology from Yvonne for “piling on” her at the event.

The conversation ended with some resolution, as Lindsay said sorry for “not showing up” in the way she should have. Nonetheless, Yvonne then admitted in a confessional that their friendship has changed since Lindsay became a mom. According to Yvonne, that’s because Lindsay now “thinks her issues are more important.”

Kyle shared a revelation

Over the group’s first dinner on the trip, Kyle revealed he’d just been booked to play 14 DJ gigs. This came as news to Amanda, who learned about the shows at the same time as everyone else. “He never tells her things in private,” Lindsay chimed in, pointing out how he has done this to Amanda before.

“This man is planning his future without me in it,” Amanda said in a confessional after learning about Kyle’s DJ shows. “No matter how many times he tells people he’s making efforts, his actions prove otherwise.”

“There’s something in my gut that tells me this is the end,” she went on.

After learning about Kyle’s upcoming DJ tour, the cast discussed how it would impact his and Amanda’s already-struggling marriage. Danielle highlighted that Kyle would be spending more time out of the house, to which Andrea agreed, adding that his partying and drinking habits were a big issue in the marriage.

“Kyle hasn’t wanted to come home since the day we started dating,” Amanda replied. To that, Kyle said he didn’t think Amanda put any effort into the relationship to save it, so he shouldn’t be taking all the blame. Visibly upset, Amanda then left the table to “have a moment,” leaving Kyle to face the group alone.

Despite defending his frequent late nights, Kyle was given some hard truths by Andrea about how a “married man” should behave. “It’s not fair,” Andrea said of how Kyle has acted in his and Amanda’s relationship. “I don’t want to f*cking hear it,” Kyle shouted, jumping up from the table as tensions rose.

The conversation ended with the guys and the girls divided over whether Amanda or Kyle was the issue in the relationship … and another revelation of “more indiscretions” on his behalf came to light.

In The City continues on Tuesdays at 9 PM ET/PT on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
