Welcome back to your In The City recap!

In last week’s episode, the group headed on a trip to celebrate Friendsgiving … but the vacay was anything but friendly. Lindsay and Whitney clashed over who got to stay in the primary suite, and whether the “single mom card” was being played too much. Meanwhile, Kyle and Amanda’s failing marriage was under the spotlight again, prompting him to crash out at the dinner table.

So, what happened next? Here’s exactly what went down in In The City Episode 9: “Cider and Squabbles.”

In The City Episode 9 – titled: “Cider and Squabbles” – the group continued their Friendsgiving vacation in the countryside. But there was a lot of drama to get through before dinner could be served, as Whitney clashed with Lindsay and Georgina about her “single mom card” statement. Meanwhile, Kenny and Gavin’s friendship was tested, and as for Kyle and Amanda? Well, you know how that ends up.

Here’s how it all went down…

Kyle reflected on his crash-out

After letting his emotions boil over at the dinner table in last week’s episode, Kyle debriefed with Kenny and Eoin about the state of his and Amanda’s relationship. “I told her that I love her and care about her,” he explained of how he tried to make things right with her following their argument.

“I am trying to put the effort in to give this experiment a go,” Kyle added of their then-trial separation.

Meanwhile, Amanda opened up in a confessional about how the ordeal impacted her. “My body was fully shaking, and I could not stop,” she said of the physical reaction she felt. “I couldn’t catch my breath. I’ve never felt that way before,” Amanda added, explaining that she thought it was her body’s way of telling her to “get out” of the relationship.

Whitney doubled down

As some of the group shopped at a supermarket for food to make a Friendsgiving dinner, Danielle quizzed Whitney about her saying Lindsay had “played the single mom card” to get the primary suite at the vacation rental.

Rather than trying to diffuse the situation, Whitney doubled down on her earlier statement. She also pointed out that other single moms don’t have help from nannies, unlike both Lindsay and Georgina. “They need to check themselves from that perspective,” she said.

“I thought this was something we could chalk up to a misunderstanding. But now I feel a bit nervous,” Danielle responded in a confessional, aware of how Lindsay might react. That said, Danielle added that she preferred Lindsay’s attention being directed at someone else for a change, rather than herself. Silver linings, eh?

Georgina got fiery

On the way to what should have been a wholesome apple-picking activity, the group traveled in separate cars, and the topic of conversation was the same in both: the “single mom card.” In her car, Whitney again doubled down on the statement. She also claimed that the people around Lindsay are “scared” of her, so they never go up against her. Meanwhile in her car, Lindsay got further riled up about it all (backed up by Georgina), and said that having a nanny allows her to work and provide for baby Gemma. “If she thought I was intimidating before, she hasn’t met me today,” Lindsay added with a heap of foreshadowing.

“It just feels like she always has an excuse and everyone just bows down to Lindsay. I’m sick of watching it,” Whitney said while sitting at the apple orchard’s fire pit. “Where do you get off on saying that?” Georgina replied, given that Lindsay had already ditched the conversation. Kenny then jumped to his girlfriend’s defense. He argued that Lindsay did use “the single mom card” to get the room she wanted.

Georgina responded that it was “disgusting to women and moms” for Whitney to have said what she did about Lindsay. Before walking away from the conversation, Georgina asked why Whitney had even involved herself. “It was none of your business,” she said, before throwing a completely new accusation at Whitney and Kenny: “I think the two of you just don’t like women.”

While preparing the food for the group’s Friendsgiving meal, Lindsay questioned Whitney on her POV. “My comment had nothing to do with you being a single mom. I have so much respect for you and Georgina regarding that topic,” she explained. “I can play the mom card whenever I like,” Lindsay responded, “but what you can’t do is call it a ‘card’.” Erm, what?

Other members of the group jumped in here, including Gavin, who told Lindsay she had “done nothing wrong.” That clearly pissed off his BFF, Kenny … more on that later!

Still trying to resolve the drama between Lindsay and Whitney, Kenny tried to explain that his girlfriend was coming from the perspective that Yvonne should have got the primary suite as a “gesture” for how terrible her wedding dinner turned out. Talk then turned to Georgina’s accusation that Whitney and Kenny “hate” women because they behaved “demeaning” and in a “disrespectful” way, for which Whitney apologized. “Hopefully we can just put it all aside and have a good Friendsgiving dinner,” she said. Bets on that happening?

A friendship was questioned

It wasn’t just the girls of In The City who clashed in this week’s episode. Former besties Kenny and Gavin also struggled to see eye-to-eye. After Gavin supported Lindsay in her fight with Whitney, Kenny accused him of “falling in line” with her. “At this point, I can’t take another second of Gavin and his bullsh*t,” he said in a confessional.

In a one-on-one moment, Kenny later accused Gavin of “taking public opportunities” to dig at him, listing off a string of examples that hurt his feelings. “Is it malicious, where is it coming from?” he asked. Clearly shocked by the allegation, Gavin replied that he “couldn’t believe” his friend felt this way. “Half of those things were jokes,” he said, adding that they had been “taken out of context.” To that end, Gavin said sorry for his timing and delivery of certain statements.

In an emotional moment, the pair both teared up as they affirmed that they see each other as “brothers.” Ultimately, Kenny asked for more support from Gavin, who apologized if he’d shown a lack of it in recent times. “Know that I’m your man, dude. No question,” Gavin concluded.

Kyle and Amanda called it quits

“For the first time, I feel like ‘this is it’,” Kyle said of his and Amanda’s marriage as they left the vacation rental separately and headed back to New York. “That is a sad realization [but] I’m not surprised we’re here.”

As the pair said a teary goodbye and got in their cars, the episode jumped forward to 2026. A montage of news articles and video clips played on screen, documenting the official separation of Kyle and Amanda, as well as her scandalous new relationship with their Summer House co-star, West.

In a conversation timestamped as April 2026, Kyle and Amanda sat down to discuss the fallout. He accused her of “point blank lying” about her relationship with West. “You left me for a guy who rages three times harder,” he went on, pointing to Amanda’s issue with Kyle’s partying and DJ lifestyle. “I didn’t leave you for someone else,” she responded.

Reflecting on things, Kyle said he had “self-sabotaged” and “wasn’t proud” of how he’d behaved in the tail-end of their marriage. To that, Amanda said there were “so many” factors in the demise of their relationship.

Amanda opened up about West

Speaking to Kyle about the impact of Scamanda, Amanda explained that she felt “so much hate” from people online … but a plus side was that Loverboy (which was on the brink of financial ruin) had seen its sales go up.

“I feel like I can’t even leave my home,” Amanda said of how afraid she was due to the reaction from Bravo fans. “Like, walking over here was scary. I am literally terrified to go outside because I’m scared someone is going to scream in my face.”

Looking forward, Amanda said she wants to “feel a sense of normalcy” in her life, and again insisted there “was no affair” between herself and West. “I’m not downplaying anything I did, or how f*cked up it was with my friendship,” she went on. “But I also want to be able to go out and do things, because if I keep hiding, I’m going to fall into that dark hole.”

Amanda then suggested that she, West, Kyle, and Salley (from Southern Charm) should go out for dinner on a “double date.” So, maybe that’ll be a crossover for Season 2? Bring on the reunion!
