The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20 is here, and Teddi Mellencamp already has some opinions. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum had something on her mind after watching just three minutes of the RHOC premiere, and she isn’t afraid to share her opinions. Her point of contention – the Shannon Beador “stumbling shtick.”
Teddi Mellencamp explains why Shannon Beador’s RHOC premiere felt familiar
During an episode of Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi told co-host Dolores Catania of The Real Housewives of New Jersey that she thought Shannon’s antics felt familiar. She was referring to Shannon’s latest on-screen stumble during the RHOC 20 season premiere.
Teddi told Dolores that she felt the moment was more than just simple clumsiness. Instead, she attributes it to what she calls Shannon’s recurring antics to be funny.
“Three minutes into the premiere and Shannon’s already starting her falling shtick,” Teddi said candidly. Dolores fairly wondered if the repeated falls were genuine.
“Is that an act? Vicki falls all the time too,” Dolores said, referring to returning RHOC OG star Vicki Gunvalson. For Teddi, though, she thinks Vicki is a natural, while she feels Shannon is more purposeful.
“I think Vicki is naturally clumsy,” Teddi revealed. “I think Shannon does it to be funny.”
For her part, Dolores doesn’t think the bit landed. In fact, she thought it was a bit worrisome.
“Somebody over 50 falling all the time,” Dolores started.
“It’s not funny,” Teddi finished.
And they aren’t wrong. The ladies have already talked previously about filming taking its toll on them. Repeated falls are probably not a good thing to add to long taping days.
For now, it’s a wobbly start to the big landmark season. But there’s definitely still so much to look forward to ahead. Fans are sure to notice now if Shannon’s tumbles continue!
