Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 is only one episode in, but the drama is already high. Not shockingly, after this episode aired, Bravo showed a teaser filled with even more drama. Based on this teaser, the crew’s interactions in Episode 1, and a rather suspicious online find by fans, we’re already predicting another messy season of Below Deck Med (per usual).

From a dry-run dock crash to fighting deckies and stews already arguing over their rankings, to a “very intense” chef who’s already joking about how many bodies she can fit in one of her freezers, Captain Sandy Yawn definitely has her hands full this season. Hopefully, her tides will change. But from where things stand after only one episode, our observations and predictions are all suggesting a less-than-smooth season of Below Deck Med.

Gen Lillie and Kayley Smith will not get along

Gen Lillie and Kayley Smith are both experienced stewardesses. Gen, however, does have several more years on her resume than Kayley does. She has also worked as a chief stew before. Even still, Gen and Kayley are currently ranked the same on Below Deck Med Season 11.

To explain, Aesha Scott sat her team of girls down in Episode 1. After they shared their resumes as a team, Aesha made an announcement. This season, all of her girls were starting with one stripe. Then, as the season went on, Aesha would select her second stew.

Gen immediately found that “interesting.” Then, as the interior team turned over the yacht, Kayley gave Gen a few notes. But Gen found her suggestions more than “interesting.”

Instead, Gen clocked Kayley in her talking head. “There is an alarm going off in my head, and it’s the fake b*tch alarm. [Kayley] knows what she’s doing; she wants to be second stew,” Gen suggested. Already, these girls are off to a rocky start, at least where Gen is concerned, and sadly, we predict things will sink even farther from here.

While the trailer does tease several lighthearted moments between Gen and Kayley, these girls are currently not following each other on Instagram, as several fan accounts have already spotted.

Also, in the trailer, during a crew night out, Gen tells Aesha, “It’s a little f*cked up that you guys were plotting against me.” Several beats later, in a scene filmed on the yacht, Gen storms off, saying, “F*ck this charter season.” Overall, we predict a rocky season-long relationship between Gen and Kayley (unless one of these girls either quits or gets fired).

The battle between Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher will intensify

Fans met Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher during Season 9, where they quickly struck up a bromance, filled with giggles and cheeky clapbacks. But when they returned for Season 10, their relationship took a turn. Now, they are both back for Season 11, and already, tensions are high. We predict, with a lot of evidence to back us up, that their battles will only intensify as this season advances.

In the first episode, Nathan explained, “Coming toward the end of last season, the way he was treating women was f*cked. I haven’t talked to [Joe] since.” Shortly after, Nathan spotted Joe walking down the pier, but instead of waiting to greet him, Nathan went inside. When they finally came face-to-face, Nathan gave his former pal a semi-cold shoulder.

When the boat ran into the dock later that night, Joe took to his confessional. If he were in Nathan’s position, he suggested, he would have handled things far better than Nathan, and the boat would not have crashed. Then, Joe further stated his intention to one day be the bosun on this series. But at the end of Episode 1, viewers saw Nathan deciding to make someone else his lead deckhand instead.

Mark our words; this will not end well. Proving our prediction, in a post-filming interview, Joe called Nathan “an aggressive man.” Joe also posted an image, asking, “Is the true side of Nathan going to show on Season 11? I bloody hope so.”

Chef Joy Lefaucheur will nail her job, but also bring the drama

Joy Lefaucheur is already nailing things in the galley this season on Below Deck Med. Before she even came on board, Captain Sandy called her resume “impressive.” She was right to be impressed, since Joy has ten years of experience in the galley. And over the years, Joy has cooked for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

Already, Joy has made a steak dinner for the crew, which they quickly ate with zero complaints. Then, once their first guests came aboard, Joy served plated, tailored meals, which they, like the crew, raved about. So, minus a few possible bumps, because televised charter guests can turn prickly on a dime, we predict that Joy will handle her job on Season 11 with ease.

But drama-wise, we predict to see Joy front and center in at least one messy storyline this season. Case in point, Joy does not follow Gen on Instagram. Likewise, Gen does not follow Joy, nor does Gen follow Luke Brumer. Luke, however, follows Joy, but not Gen.

Furthermore, in the trailer, signs of a love triangle emerged. And all three of these yachties’ faces and/or voices were in the mix during these teased scenes. Here we go, drama (probably).

Below Deck Mediterranean is streaming on Peacock.
