His remarks followed Kelce’s arrival at training camp after an eventful offseason.

The Chiefs reported to training camp on July 29, and fans closely watched videos and photos from the first day back. Kelce was recently married to Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden in front of his teammates, making his return even more awaited. Shortly after camp opened, an AI-generated video started trending online. The edited video led to false rumors that Kelce returned out of shape.
During an interview with NFL Network on Tuesday, Aug. 4, host Jeffri Chadiha asked Reid what he had seen from Kelce since returning to the field. The online speculation was immediately dismissed by Reid. “Well, he came back in good shape. I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked,” Reid said. He made it clear he saw no change in Kelce’s conditioning.
Reid also praised Kelce’s work during training camp. He said the veteran has been “just playing like crazy” and “doing a nice job with everything” since reporting. Reid added, “He’s focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that.” He also noted that Kelce has “been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap.”
Before Reid spoke out, The Athletic Chiefs beat reporter Jesse Newell also pushed back against the viral AI clip. He posted on X to address the edited video. “Because I saw the fake Travis Kelce beer gut AI practice video about 10 times this weekend … here is what Travis Kelce looks like at Chiefs camp this morning,” Newell wrote. His post echoed Reid’s message that the viral video did not accurately show Kelce’s appearance.
