A source close to Thomas Markle told Sunday Express that it would be a “bittersweet moment” if Markle wins the award. For those unversed, the duchess’ dad was a two-time Daytime Emmy Awards winner as the lighting director of the medical drama, “General Hospital.” So, her daughter’s Emmy nomination seemed to be a “proud” moment for him.
Hence, Thomas allegedly wanted to send Meghan a message to congratulate her on the nomination. “But in the end, he didn’t because I don’t think he wanted to set himself up for the likelihood that she would simply ghost him again,” the insider said.
