Princess Diana reportedly shared a “prolific” letter-writing trait with none other than King Charles. As reported by Marie Claire, Ken Wharfe, a former bodyguard of the late Princess, told them that “Diana was a prolific letter writer.” The person continued, “I used to encourage her not to write quite so many letters.”

The former bodyguard then explained, “But I think it was part of her aristocratic upbringing.” The person continued, “She’d been brought up to believe that if somebody showed you kindness or hospitality.” The former bodyguard of the late Princess added, “You always wrote to say thank you.”

Ken Wharfe further stated that Princess Diana “wrote constantly.” According to the former royal bodyguard, “Her letters were wonderfully warm and often very funny.” The former bodyguard also told the news outlet that apart from her letter-writing hobby, the late Princess “was also very interested in current affairs.” The person continued, “She always wanted to know what was happening in the world and what was going on in politics.”

Meanwhile, Ken Wharfe also said to the news outlet that Princess Diana was “incredibly generous”, as along with the thank-you notes, she would give small gifts to people she came across during her travels frequently. In the meantime, per the news outlet, “King Charles is an obsessive letter writer.” Back in 2022, the palace revealed that the monarch writes over 2,400 letters every year. These letters allegedly include notes to public members as well.
