Fine was canvassing for votes ahead of Florida’s 6th Congressional District Republican primary. The footage shows him checking the mailbox while standing outside a home. Fine’s office confirmed that the person in the video is him.

The video from the Ring camera is dated Sunday, 4:55 p.m. ET. Fine rings the doorbell and waits on the porch before looking around the area. He then opens the mailbox and looks through several envelopes. TMZ reported that the footage does not show him taking, changing or putting anything into the mailbox.
The footage does not appear to show Fine removing or tampering with any mail. The outlet also reported that there does not appear to be a criminal issue based on what the video shows. Nonetheless, the moment has gained attention due to the fact that Fine went through a stranger’s mailbox while campaigning. The unusual scene happened as he went door to door seeking support.
Fine represents Florida’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House. He won the seat in a special election on April 1, 2025, after former Rep. Michael Waltz resigned. Fine was sworn in on April 2, 2025. He is now seeking reelection to the seat.
