In Season 10, Episode 7 of Below Deck Mediterranean, Below Deck turned into an Aaron Spelling production.
“We’ve never done one like this before,” Captain Sandy Yawn told her crew. “This is going to be a fun charter. Like a matchmaker cruise.”
Sandy went on to add that the primary guest Joe was bringing his personal matchmaker along for the charter. Amy would host sic eligible women for a “singles event.” If Joe “makes a connection,” read the unusual preference sheet, he “may leave the yacht with his new love interest!”
A Below Deck Med guest brought his personal matchmaker onboard to try and find love

While they all had work to do, the crew members were totally distracted by Joe’s romantic quest. Bosun Nathan Gallagher hung on every word as the suitor and his potential love match Brook discussed Joe’s poodle.
Claiming his dog is a genius, Joe said, “He speaks English, like actually, he knows so many words.” Poodles are smart. They have the IQ of a small child. But then, so does my chihuahua.
Meanwhile, Nathan was fascinated by Joe’s search for love. “I’ve never seen anything like this charter,” he said in a production interview. “I can’t stop watching it. It’s just absolutely insane, and I’m loving every minute of it.”
Captain Sandy was also deeply invested, saying, “I love this. I wish we could do every charter like this.” Although, Sandy has another idea in mind for a Below Deck crossover.
Add chief stew Aesha Scott to the list of people watching Below Deck Love Boat. Potential love interest Anna captured Aesha’s attention during dinner.
“So, I had a guy I went on a one-on-one date with,” Anna shared as Aesha was serving. “I wore like a hot couture dress. I was going to an Upper East Side place where I live. And he told me, ‘Oh, it’s not like you’re going to a runway show.’ So I said, ‘You know what? Get out of here. Life is my runway show, and if you don’t like that, you should leave.’”
While Aesha was unimpressed by Anna, she admitted to “rooting for Ashleigh or Alicia.” Deckhand Max Salvador agreed with Aesha’s opinion when Anna asked him to take some pictures of her on the boat.
“I do not like that guy,” Anna confessed. “He’s not even hot. Like, what the f*ck?”
Meanwhile, Anna had already shared her feelings about Joe with the other contestants. “I’m just here for the yacht, at the end of the day,” she told them. “I’m not really here for the guy. I have plenty of those in New York.”
As bad as this episode may have been, it couldn’t have been any worse than the Below Deck Down Under crossover with the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. That was nasty.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo in the US, streaming on Peacock the next day.
