Palace sources have told Radar Online that the Sussexes’ impending move has temporarily shifted attention away from his own scandals. The former Duke of York remains under investigation after his headline-making arrest in February this year.
Although the disgraced royal has categorically denied the allegations, he has continued to make headlines and is shunned by the royal family. A royal source dished to the outlet, “Andrew is under no illusion about the seriousness of his own circumstances, but Harry and Meghan returning has completely transformed the royal news agenda. Suddenly, everyone is talking about where the Sussexes will live, their relationship with the King, and what happens with William. Andrew was stripped of his royal titles by his brother, King Charles. He was also asked to vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor. Mountbatten-Windsor now lives at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
According to PEOPLE, Harry and Markle will live in a private, non-royal home while retaining their homes in Montecito and Portugal. They have reportedly enrolled their children, Archie and Lilibet, in a British school. The kids will begin their new term in September.
Charles was “made aware” of the couple’s plans on August 16. He has reportedly welcomed the idea of meeting his younger son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren in a private capacity.
