Ariana Grande showed off her impressive wand skills on The Tonight Show on the November 18 episode. The pop star plays the role of Glinda in the much-anticipated sequel “Wicked: For Good” and was eager to discuss her new talent on the chat show.
Fallon asked, “There’s a fight scene. It’s a full-on video game Mortal Kombat fight scene, and you show off some crazy wand skills.” Notably, Fallon was referring to a scene between Glinda (Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo). Grande replied, “Oh, thank you.” The talk show host added, “Yes, I mean it was like… It’s pretty impressive.”
The singer joked that the wand “got caught in my wig a few times,” making the host chuckle. Fallon remarked, “We always happen to have a wand floating around,” shocking Grande. The popstar exclaimed, “What? How didn’t I see that from behind you?” as the studio audience erupted in cheers and applause.
Fallon requested, “Could you do any skills? Could you do any flips? Do you remember it?” Grande replied, “Yeah, I can try. I’m a little out of practice; it’s been like three and a half years. I have to find my footing.”
The popstar twirled the pink wand in the air as Fallon ducked behind his desk. The talk show host joined the live audience as they collectively cheered for Grande.
