Prince Harry Shades Donald Trump With Stephen Colbert

Prince Harry and Stephen Colbert may share a common enemy, Donald Trump. The Duke of Sussex made a surprise appearance Stephen’s show on Wednesday, coming out during the comedian’s monologue. At the time, Stephen was going on about how Christmas TV movies are problematic because they set unrealistic expectations of randomly bumping into a Prince. On cue, Harry appeared.

In the segment, Harry often makes subtle references to the US President. He pretends to want to act and will do anything to be in a Hallmark movie, including settling a baseless lawsuit with the White House. That was in reference to a $16 million lawsuit CBS and the White House agreed upon earlier this year.

Both the Prince and Stephen have had their differences with people in power. Harry refrained from taking a shot at his estranged brother, Prince William, instead following Stephen in taking shots at the President.

On The Late Show, Harry claimed Americans were obsessed with royalty and Christmas movies. Stephen denied this, prompting Harry to say, “Really? I heard you elected a king.” In February, on his Truth Social platform, Donald declared congestion pricing dead, saying New York was saved while adding, “LONG LIVE THE KING.”

In November, Stephen reflected on his nine years at CBS, which will soon end. He says he enjoyed being the number one show but was shocked at the cancellation for that exact reason.

Stephen openly criticized the settlement CBS made with the White House. Three days after that, the comedian’s show was cancelled. The network stated it was due to financial constraints, but Stephen didn’t believe it.

In February, the President took a shot at Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. He said he’s leaving the Prince alone regarding his US residency. Donald said he has enough problems with his wife calling her “terrible.”

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026.
