Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel has just released an update regarding her health. Unfortunately, she has stage 2 chronic kidney disease. Bethenny is now managing her health with a solid team of specialists by her side. Yet, here’s what Bethenny suspects about her newly diagnosed condition.
Bethenny Frankel got honest in a new health update
“I have a medical announcement,” Bethenny shared via TikTok only yesterday. She added, “Months ago, I decided I was going to be very proactive about blood tests. I started to take a series of blood tests, and each time my kidney function was coming up low.” But thankfully, Bethenny had already visited her doctor earlier that same day, so before logging on to make this reel, she already knew what was happening within her body.
Regarding her stage 2 chronic kidney disease, it could be the direct result of a “traumatic experience [she] had years ago when [she] almost died from an allergy attack.” Or, it could be an autoimmune disease, Bethenny noted. Then again, other infections could have also led to her diagnosis, since she used to get a lot of UTIs, but “not as much anymore.”
“I don’t drink a lot of water,” Bethenny next admitted, explaining, “I’m holding a bottle, but I’m not usually drinking it.” However, “[My doctor] said, ‘Water is your medicine.’” So, now, she has to drink up to 1.5 gallons per day. Bethenny also needs to stop taking pain medications, such as Ibuprofen and Advil, alongside other supplements, like turmeric.
And then, Bethenny spoke a word of caution to her followers. “Be mindful,” she began. Because, “Maybe this is something I’ll have to deal with forever. But I just wanted to tell you because I think it’s important to go get all your bloodwork done.”
