Patrick Dempsey’s once crumbling marriage appears to be fully repaired. The Grey’s Anatomy actor has been married to Jillian Frank for over 25 years. They have three children together.
After some lean years in their marriage, Patrick and Jillian’s relationship is back on track. People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2023 is gushing about his wife these days and everything she’s done for him. The makeup artist is Patrick’s second wife after the hunky TV doctor divorced Rocky Parker in 1994. Evidently, Patrick wasn’t ready to go through that same circumstance with Jillian.

It may be happy times between Patrick and Jillian nowadays, but that wasn’t always the case. Back in January 2015, Jillian filed for divorce from Patrick. Whatever the reason, Patrick clearly got the message and did what he could to change that situation. They worked through their differences and are back to being happily married.
The People’s Choice Award winner says that things between him and Jillian are stronger than ever. In an interview with Today, he gushed over his wife, saying, “She’s an amazing woman.” He says that when he met her years ago, it was love at first sight. Jillian owned a salon in Hollywood when Patrick happened to walk in, as he recalls. After gazing upon her, Patrick’s first reaction was, “I’m going to marry that woman.”
It didn’t happen quite that fast, though, with the actor admitting it took a few years before he finally scored a date with her. He didn’t get into how he got the first date, but noted that she was in the audience, live watching Thursday’s interview. He made sure to point out that she does his makeup, which is why his face looks so good.
Patrick’s old show premiered its 22nd season last October with a notable death in the first episode. His character of Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy was killed in season 11 after a car accident and subsequent medical negligence. He would return in a dream sequence during the 17th-season premiere.
