For a very long time now, King Charles has been dealing with his disgraced younger brother’s association with Jeffrey Epstein. Last October, Charles stripped Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his remaining titles. Previously, his mother Queen Elizabeth had stripped him of his military titles and royal patronages.
This morning, Charles was greeting a crowd in Lancashire. Suddenly, a man shouted out, “Charles, how long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?”
Though the rest of the crowd booed and tried to silence the heckler, the king remained calm and carried on. However, later in the day, the Palace released a statement.
Buckingham Palace released a shocking statement
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said, “The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.
“While the specific claims in question are for Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect.
“As was previously stated, Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”
Just last week, the king was confronted in a similar manner about his brother’s releationship with the convicted pedophile. “Charles? Charles?” the bystander asked, while holding up a cell phone. “Should the police be investigating Andrew?”
This latest situation follows the news that Andrew may have leaked confidential trade documents to Epstein. Police are investigating the allegations following the discovery that he shared at least four documents in 2010. At the time, then-Prince Andrew was acting as a UK global trade envoy.
A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman told The Sun, “We … are assessing the information in line with our established procedures.”
