Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars was epic. The show felt fresh and new, and the performances were amazing. In the end, Robert Irwin and his pro partner, Witney Carson, took home the Mirrorball. And now there are rumors that The Bachelor could be in his future.
Meanwhile, Robert had no dance or performance experience going into DWTS. However, he was a natural dancer with charm and personality. Robert danced with Mirroball champion Xochitl Gomez during DWTS’s 20th birthday celebration. Their electric chemistry sparked dating rumors. However, both Robert and Xochitl later confirmed that they are single.
Could Robert Irwin be the next lead on The Bachelor?
When asked if he was interested in returning to reality TV, Robert told Entertainment Tonight, “Never say never. I’m in this realm right now where I’m like, never say never.”
However, when asked if he was interested in handing out roses on The Bachelor, Robert played coy. “You know what? Watch this space. Who knows?” the wildlife conservationist stated. “It’s a strange world. Anything could happen.”
Robert continued, “I feel like some of the rumors flying around during Dancing with the Stars – like, Robert’s gonna be the next Bachelor – I’m like, oh my goodness.” It seems that Robert isn’t sure that fans would be interested in his normal life.
“I’m a zookeeper. I’m an animal conservationist. That’s my thing,” Robert explained. “My world is very different from most of the things that are reported on about me.” He added that his everyday life is “a lot more boring than you might think.” And as for his dating life? “I’m pretty vanilla,” Robert admitted.
