A redacted email sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein revealed former Prince Andrew had “consensual sex” with Virginia Giuffre. Andrew denied having had sexual relations with Virginia.
The ex-royal claims he doesn’t remember meeting Virginia, but in 2022, he paid her $16 million to settle her sexual assault lawsuit. He was given this sum by his brother King Charles and mother Queen Elizabeth, but has not repaid it.
The email to Jeffrey Epstein claimed the sex was “consensual”
A private 2015 email revealed Jeffrey did not refute New York Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr.’s claim that Andrew slept with Virginia, according to RadarOnline. The email serves as the first written validation that Andrew and Virginia had sex. Jeffrey was told to keep his distance from the former Prince due to his “consensual sex” with the alleged victim.
Virginia claimed Jeffrey and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to Andrew for sex, according to a December 2014 Florida court filing. She said this occurred at least three times in 2001 when she was 17.
In 2025, BBC Panorama revealed a concealed interview describing how Virginia first met Andrew. The 2019 interview clip was aired months after Virginia’s untimely death. In it, she said, “Ghislaine tells me that I have to do for Andrew what I do for Jeffrey, and that made me sick. I just didn’t expect it from royalty. I didn’t expect from someone who people look up to and admire in the royal family.”
She added Andrew “knows what happened, I know what happened, and there’s only one of us telling the truth.” Virginia also described Ghislaine as being “more physically abusive in some aspects than Jeffrey Epstein even was. She almost took pleasure in the fact, knowing that you were highly uncomfortable and that you were feeling sick to your stomach and that you were going through pain.”
Ghislaine was found guilty of child sex trafficking in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years in prison the following year.
