King Charles‘ brother, ex-Prince Andrew’s arrest shaped the day before London Fashion Week cameras rolled. “The law must take its course,” the monarch said in his written statement.
One expert has now reportedly claimed the monarch looked strained behind a “social smile” at the London event. King Charles’ smile became the story, even as duty stayed on schedule.
King Charles reportedly faked his smile at London Fashion Week, claims expert
As per The Mirror report dated February 19, 2026, King Charles stepped out after Buckingham Palace addressed recent events. The palace shared a statement in which the monarch said he learned the news and has expressed his “deepest concern.” The King also promised “full and wholehearted support and co-operation” with authorities.
Then, he repeated, “the law must take its course.” He also stressed a “full, fair and proper process.” King Charles added, “My family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James gave the images a sharper reading. She said Charles looked “drawn and with a hint of anxiety beneath his fixed social smile.” She also called him “a little more hunched and vulnerable-looking than usual.”
Then, she said his wave showed “no real desire to plunge into any more lingering meet-and-greet rituals.” Still, James saw “a desire for resilience and stoicism underpinned by that suggestion of anxiety.” In the same reading, the smile “barely reaches his eyes.”
King Charles’ visit to London Fashion Week stayed busy and highly visible. The monarch toured Stella McCartney’s exhibition on craft and sustainability. He later sat front row for the opening show.
He also met Tolu Coker, a “King’s Trust” Enterprise Programme alum, and Laura Weir. The report said he chatted and clapped through the event.
