Before his unprecedented arrest last week, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly wanted to form an alliance with his nephew, Prince Harry … but that plan has now been scuppered.
According to a source, the former Duke of York felt a bond with Harry, who is rumored to have had a tense relationship with the Royal Family since stepping back from duties in 2020.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly wanted to use Prince Harry to win back King Charles

“Andrew is feeling a lot of kinship towards Harry,” an insider previously told Radar Online. “In his view, they are both ‘spares’ that have been terribly mistreated.”
Per the source, Andrew “can’t believe” that his family have “turned on him,” which he thinks has happened to Harry, too. “In his view, that ought to bond them,” the source added. “Even though they’ve never been close in the past.”
But Andrew’s arrest hasn’t been the only obstacle in his plan to bond with Harry. Radar Online’s source said Meghan Markle was not on board. “Meghan is disgusted by him,” the insider alleged. “She thinks he’ll tarnish her brand.”
To that end, the source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want “nothing” to do with the former Prince Andrew. They’re not the only royals who are struggling with the current scandal, however. King Charles is apparently worried “that more is yet to come.”
“The king has done everything he can; he has stripped Andrew of his titles, removed him from his home, and is trying to keep Andrew out of the picture, but it is proving to be impossible,” the insider said.
After his brother’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, His Majesty expressed his “deepest concern.”
“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course,” Charles continued. “Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
