Former FBI Official Slams Kash Patel’s Partying With Hockey Team

Members of the public aren’t the only people criticizing Kash Patel for his Winter Olympics partying over the weekend. A former FBI official has commented after a video of Kash celebrating with the US men’s hockey team went viral.

FBI Director Kash Patel is being scrutinized for a viral video

To recap, FBI Director Kash found himself at the center of controversy on Sunday night. He was filmed downing a bottle of beer and chanting with the US men’s hockey team in their locker room after they won gold.

Some people criticized Kash for not focusing on the many ongoing cases the FBI is dealing with right now, such as the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Meanwhile, others defended the director’s right to time off. But what do people who work at the FBI think of the ordeal?

Commenting on exactly that, former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe didn’t hold back during an appearance on The Lead with Jake Tapper this week.

“[It’s] a horrible, horrible message to the FBI rank and file,” said Andrew. “I’m sure that this video is coursing through that population today.”

As well as delivering a blow to the FBI team, Andrew claimed the clip would harm the FBI’s wider reputation. “[It’s a] horrible message to the country when the FBI is in the middle of such incredibly important investigations,” he added.

Elsewhere in his interview, Andrew suggested the “excuse” that Kash was at the Winter Olympics on business was “patently ridiculous.”

“We know exactly what he was doing there,” he argued.

Seemingly unfazed by the backlash, Kash took to social media himself to respond. “For the very concerned media – yes, I love America,” he said. “[I] was extremely humbled when my friends, the newly minted Gold Medal winners on Team USA, invited me into the locker room to celebrate this historic moment with the boys.”

He ended his post, “Greatest country on earth and greatest sport on earth.”
