Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars was fantastic. Now the pros, and some of their partners, have hit the road for the Dancing with the Stars Live! tour. Unfortunately, pro Val Chmerkovskiy headed to the hospital after feeling ill.
As you may recall, Val and his partner, influencer Alix Earle, nabbed second place for Season 34. Conservationist Robert Irwin and his partner, Witney Carson, won the Mirroball.
During the tour, Alix and Val performed together at some venues. Due to his medical issue, Val was forced to miss a performance in Peoria and apologized to his fans via his Instagram.
The Dancing with the Stars professional shared a video from his hospital bed
Val posted a video to his Instagram, showing himself in a hospital bed. “I’ve just been having vertigo for the last couple of days. I had it yesterday, and I was able to get through the show, and then we ran some tests,” Val explained.
Apparently, traveling on the bus may have worsened Val’s medical condition. “That little crystal in your equilibrium – again, I’m learning a lot – once it goes out, it’s really hard to get it back in. So, I’m just spinning everywhere,” Val stated. “And so, on the bus when it’s moving, you know, and I woke up, and I couldn’t get myself together.”
The DWTS pro added, “So hopefully tomorrow’s our day off. I’ll be back on Tuesday. Love you, thank you.” Val’s wife, Jenna Johnson, who is also part of the tour, commented with crying and an injured heart emoji.
In a separate Instagram Story, Val addressed the fans. “My apologies to all of the fans that came out to see us today in Peoria. Thank you to my fellow castmates for rallying,” he wrote over a photo of himself in the hospital. “I’ll be good to go asap.”
He added, “It takes quite literally me not being able to stand on my feet to keep me off that stage. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make it tonight.” Sending wishes for a speedy recovery to Val.
Dancing with the Stars is available to stream on Disney+.
