Bethenny Frankel Calls Out Rachel Zoe RHOBH Scene With Kids: ‘Selling Your Soul to the Devil’

Bethenny Frankel is watching the latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and she has some opinions. The Real Housewives of New York alum took to social media to share her thoughts on a recent scene featuring Rachel Zoe and her children.

Bethenny has long been known for sharing her thoughts on social media. She took to Instagram to say that Rachel’s speaking with her two young boys about her divorce made her “deeply uncomfortable.”

Bethenny felt “deeply uncomfortable” watching

“There is a scene from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with Rachel Zoe and her children that I just saw on this app,” Bethenny said. “It so crystallizes the potential damage that reality television can do and the price that you pay and the selling your soul to the devil. That is so jarring.”

Bethenny admitted that she also went through a very public divorce. She was “sort of Easter egging and breadcrumbing” to prove that she was going through a tough time. But she didn’t allow her daughter, Brynn Hoppy, to be on the show.

She felt that producers must have provoked the scene between Rachel and her boys talking about the divorce. According to Bethenny, that’s what it’s like creating reality content.

“That was the price and cost of being on the show,” Bethenny said. “It wasn’t great. These children are not fully formed human beings, adolescents, teens, that a parent is saying, ‘How does it feel?’”

She didn’t say it outright, but Bethenny alluded that allowing that discussion to be aired could only be for fame, promotion, or a paycheck. However, she also added that her opinion was not “a slight or dig” at anyone. She just knows how f*cked up reality TV can be.

“The price of having to put your children on television and ask them about a divorce is so gargantuan and made me actually uncomfortable. It made me deeply uncomfortable,” Bethenny concluded.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the following day.
