A new billboard campaign featuring Nancy Guthrie is a double-edged sword. Jennifer Coffindaffer previously worked as an FBI special agent. The search for Nancy continues after she went missing last month, with thousands of tips being examined closely.
Nancy’s case has generated plenty of media attention, but authorities have yet to apprehend a suspect. Now, retired, Jennifer weighed in on “the good news and the bad news” surrounding the Bureau’s campaign.

The FBI’s billboards are being met with both praise and criticism by Jennifer. On her X account, she said that this “Shotgun approach shows little direction.” On the other hand, she is happy the FBI is “using billboards to spread awareness.” Her other big criticism was the person on Nancy’s porch. Jennifer calls him “the key” while believing they need to show him.
Last month, an FBI spokesperson said the billboards would go up in cities in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California. Nancy’s home is in Tucson, Arizona, and it’s believed that she was taken from her home in the early morning hours of February 1.
Last month, Nancy’s daughter, Savannah, went online to post some FBI footage of the alleged kidnapper. The Today Show host also previously offered a $1 million reward in this case.
After a lengthy investigation of Nancy’s home, the FBI released a suspect description. In addition to that, they revealed that some of the 84-year-old’s blood was discovered at her home. There is concern about her well-being due to her heart condition. She requires medication to help with that and has reportedly been without it since her disappearance.
Numerous ransom notes have been sent to news outlets in the aftermath of Nancy’s disappearance. Savannah was due to co-host the 2026 opening ceremonies at the Winter Olympics before her mother’s disappearance. She intends to return to the Today Show despite that.
