Taylor Frankie Paul Breaks Silence on Bachelorette Cancellation

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

MomTok influencer Taylor Frank Paul was cast as the newest Bachelorette. Her season was set to air in days – until it was canceled. Both Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, are the subject of an open domestic violence investigation.

The former couple was ordered to undergo psychological evaluations by the Utah Division of Child and Family Services. However, a previous domestic altercation between The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star and Dakota was likely the final blow to Season 22 of The Bachelorette. And this one was caught on tape.

The SLOMW star says she’s been the victim of “extensive mental and physical abuse”

A disturbing video from 2023, which showed Taylor hitting, kicking, and throwing metal chairs at Dakota, surfaced. Her daughter, Indy, was allegedly struck by one of the chairs during the incident. Taylor pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a statement from Disney Entertainment read.

Meanwhile, PEOPLE obtained a statement from Taylor. “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

Taylor’s statement continued, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”

The Bachelorette and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are streaming on Hulu and Disney+
