Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.
Taylor Frankie Paul’s journey as The Bachelorette was shelved. Yet, somehow, there is still plenty of drama surrounding the season. And that includes a video of a 2023 altercation between Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
The leaked video showed Taylor hitting and kicking Dakota, as well as throwing metal chairs at him. Meanwhile, her daughter was nearby and was allegedly struck by a chair. Taylor pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, and the other charges were dropped. Meanwhile, both Dakota and Taylor are involved in a current domestic abuse investigation.
Taylor Frankie Paul supposedly found love on her cancelled Bachelorette season

Once the video surfaced, ABC pulled the plug on The Bachelorette. However, sources claim that Taylor did give out her final rose and may have received a ring in return. Page Six reported that an insider claimed that surfer and lifeguard Doug Mason reportedly “proposed.”
The insider added, “[Frankie] and Doug are still in touch, but it’s unclear what will happen now; that’s to be determined.” Meanwhile, an industry source claimed that Taylor’s search for love was “absolutely along the lines of past shows.” The insider stated that there was a proposal, and “there may be a ring.”
In addition, one source claimed, “Taylor was trying desperately to get out of this toxic relationship [with Mortensen].” Another insider alleged that Dakota was “jealous that she was getting another show, and she was going to be around all these guys.”
However, if Doug was Taylor’s pick, that might make sense. He recently shared a message via his Instagram Story. “In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment,” Doug said, “and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is just be hopeful.”
The Bachelorette is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
