Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 9 Preview: Ellie Dubaich Runs to Captain Jason

One could say that the majority of the drama on Below Deck Down Under this season has been in the galley. Alesia Harris already quit working for Chef Ben Robinson. And in a sneak peek for next week’s episode, Ellie Dubiach seems ready to do the same.

Despite a recent successful charter working together, Ellie has taken offense to Ben’s habit of calling his coworkers pet names. Now, Captain Jason Chambers is going to find out what’s really going on in the galley. It’s 15 minutes before dinner in the sneak peek. Ellie is filmed storming through the guest area to find the captain. On the verge of tears, she told Jason that “the way Ben speak’s to me” is “unacceptable.”

Chef Ben Robinson is under fire on BDDU Season 4 Episode 9

“He needs me to do certain things for dinner, but he never told me about it. And then all of a sudden it was like, ‘Oh you need to hurry up. Dinner is starting. You need to do all these things.’ I would have prioritized my day better if you, as my manager, would have told me, ‘By the way, these are your tasks, I need them done by this time,'” Ellie explained.

In a confessional interview, she said, “Ben is trying to make me feel like we are about to fail dinner service because of me. Yes I lost it, but this man has literally driven me insane.”

The captain expressed his shock in a seperate confessional because he thought “communication was pretty good” between Ben and Ellie.

The Australian native agreed with Ellie that she shouldn’t be “a doormat.” Nor should Ben be addressing her in a way that she doesn’t “want to be called.”

Ellie lamented, “He always calls me honey, baby, sweetie pie, sugar pie. It’s humiliating to me. Why do not addreess me by my name?”

“You’ve got boundaries and you need to communicate with him,” captain advised. He promised to “get to the bottom of it.”

Back in the confessional, the Bravo heartthrob said he “thought everything was fantastic down there.” Jason continued, “I don’t want to dismiss her feelings and her situation, however there’s a time for everything. Not ten minutes before dinner.”

Ben, meanwhile, was as “shocked” as Jason. He told producers, “It’s unfair. I have the weight of the world on my shoulders so I need to be in a good space and this is just not what I need right now.”

Ellie returned to the galley to continue arguing with Ben, while Jason hovered in the background. Who is in the wrong?
