Taylor Frankie Paul Under Investigation After Third Domestic Violence Claim

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

Once again, Taylor Frankie Paul is allegedly under investigation for another domestic violence incident. Her season of The Bachelorette was canceled once a tape of a 2023 domestic abuse incident between Taylor and Dakota Mortensen leaked. Dakota, her ex-boyfriend, filmed the disturbing encounter.

As a result, Taylor pleaded guilty in abeyance to a charge of aggravated assault. Meanwhile, the Draper Police Department has an open domestic violence investigation involving both Taylor and Dakota. The complaint was called in on February 24 and 25, with allegations against both sides.

A police spokesman told NBC News that last month, Dakota contacted the police department in West Jordan, Utah. He alleged that Taylor was involved in a domestic violence incident in 2024. The spokesman could provide no additional information, citing the open investigation.

The spokesman did state that the police were reviewing videos connected to the incident. However, he could not share the date of the 2024 encounter. The spokesman added that they have spoken to Dakota, but have not talked to Taylor. However, they did speak with her lawyer.

According to the spokesperson, police want Taylor to come in for an interview regarding Dakota’s report or provide a written statement. Meanwhile, Salt Lake City District Attorney Sam Gill issued a statement. His office “requested all the investigative material to screen the most recent allegations for charges.” He is also looking into the case being investigated by the Draper police department.

“We made the request because of the potential that if charges are filed, they could be enhanced due to a prior plea in abeyance to a domestic violence offense,” the district attorney’s statement read. Recently, Dakota was granted temporary custody of their son, Ever, and he has a temporary protective order against Taylor. The next hearing regarding this issue will take place on April 7.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu.
