Story of King Charles’ Dislike for Cats Resurfaces in New Report

King Charles has reportedly never been fond of cats. A new report claimed that the royal members have always been dog lovers. In fact, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s love for Corgis was very well-known.

However, felines don’t seem to be a popular pick among the royals. Recently, a royal author mentioned that the 77-year-old monarch has never liked cats, so much so that he could “not bear” to touch them.

King Charles hated when Princess Margaret gave him a kitten

King Charles’ dislike for cats has recently made headlines. HELLO! Magazine reported that the father of two has never been fond of felines. The report mentioned an anecdote, which was written in the 2013 book, “Pets by Royal Appointment.” Royal author and a former BBC correspondent, Brian Hoey, highlighted a story about the king and his aunt, Princess Margaret.

He mentioned, “Princess Margaret gave him a kitten as a present when he was a child and he disliked it on sight.” For those unversed, she was the late Queen Elizabeth II’s sister. Since the incident, Hoey claimed that Charles could reportedly not tolerate the sight of a feline.

“Since then, he has developed an aversion to everything feline and says he cannot even stand having one in the same room,” the author claimed in the book.

While cats were not seemingly taken as pets at the palace, dogs played bigger roles in the lives of the royal members. They have been the family’s companion for ages. Furthermore, the late queen’s love for Corgis was well-portrayed in many TV shows and movies based on the royal family.

Moreover, King Charles has also been fond of dogs since childhood. He reportedly has a lagotto romagnolo puppy named Snuff, who came into his life last year. Meanwhile, his wife, Queen Camilla, is said to have two jack russells, Moley and Bluebell.
