For a while, West Wilson was the name on many a Bravo-lover’s lips. But now that the world knows about his secret love affair with his Summer House costar, Amanda Batula, the tides are a’changing. After speculations grew too high to ignore, the pair finally released a joint statement confirming their hidden romance. But when Katie Maloney, who’s already lived through a similar mess on Vanderpump Rules, spoke about their joint statement, she had nothing positive to say. Overall, Katie finds Amanda and West’s words completely “devoid of empathy and reality.”
Dayna Kathan also wasn’t impressed by the joint statement
On a recent episode of their Disrespectfully podcast, Katie and her co-host, Dayna Kathan, equally slammed Amanda and West’s joint statement. “The joint statement was a bit word-salad-y,” Katie began. “Yeah,” Dayna agreed.
In their statement, Amanda and West noted that they had “seen the growing online speculation” about their romance. They also explained that “their connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship.” Now, they are taking the time to understand their feelings, and all they ask in return is for “respect as we navigate this” chapter.
Back to Katie and Dayna. Dayna “had it on good authority that they did have a PR person helping them with [their statement].” But as she joked, they need to “get a refund,” because “That was one of the worst” joint statements yet.
As Dayna explained, Amanda and West star on a reality series. So, they cannot do something “salacious and then say respect our privacy.” That is just “not realistic.” Katie agreed.
“Yeah,” Katie said. “It’s giving, somebody’s going to lose their job. It was very devoid of empathy and reality.” They also noted that West is allegedly seeing other women, so, hopefully, for Amanda’s sake, this mess was all worth it.
