The highly-anticipated IShowSpeed anime is officially on the horizon, which will be helmed by the visionary showrunner behind the One Piece live-action adaptation, Matt Owens. Brian Robbins’ Big Shot Pictures is bringing IShowSpeed’s vibrant energy to a new anime series, featuring his voice and larger-than-life persona. The show’s plot is being kept under wraps, but it will feature an animated IShowSpeed, a first for him in a narrative project. Big Shot Pictures will soon present the project to potential partners.

Speaking on the collaboration, IShowSpeed told Variety, “I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true for me. The team behind this project is incredibly talented, and I can’t wait for my fans around the world to see what we’re building together.”

Owens, known for co-running Netflix’s One Piece, is writing the series. He stepped back from the live-action series to focus on his mental health. Owens will produce alongside Brian Robbins, with filmmaker Harmony Korine also on board as a producer.

IShowSpeed is handled by CAA. Meanwhile, Owens is represented by CAA, Circle Management + Production, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. For those unaware, Brian Robbins, too, has a storied background. He previously co-led Paramount Global, overseeing major franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog and SpongeBob.

However, Robbins departed in August 2025 following the Paramount Skydance merger. He is now the driving force behind Big Shot Pictures. The company is backed by Greycroft, Sony Pictures Entertainment, MarcyPen Capital Partners, ValueAct Capital, and CAA.

As for the choice to feature IShowSpeed, Robbins praised Speed as “a one-of-a-kind creative force,” connecting with audiences globally. He further expressed excitement about bringing Speed’s voice and vision to life in a new way through the series.
