Donald Trump Will Now Have a Road Named After Him

Florida is officially putting Donald Trump‘s name on the map in a major way. A new bill signed into law ensures that a 124-mile stretch of highway running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf Coast will bear the name of Trump. The legislation, championed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, expands a previous local designation into a prominent statewide tribute.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 628 on April 14 at Tallahassee International Airport. The bill renames State Road 80, a major east-west artery, as “President Donald J. Trump Highway.”

This stretch of highway spans from A1A in Palm Beach County all the way west to U.S. 41 in Lee County. The new law replaces and significantly expands a 2025 measure that had only renamed a four-mile portion of Southern Boulevard near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Now, the tribute stretches “coast to coast across Florida,” according to state officials. The Florida Department of Transportation will now manage the placement of new signage along the route. The law is scheduled to go into effect on July 1.

The Republican Party of Florida celebrated the renaming on X. Their statement read, “Florida is making it official! President Donald J. Trump Highway – from Palm Beach to Lee County! Florida is honored to be home to this landmark tribute to President [Donald Trump].”

Moreover, this road renaming is part of a broader pattern of tributes to Donald Trump. Recently, officials also renamed Palm Beach International Airport in his honor. Beyond Florida, Trump’s name has been affixed to federal institutions, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the United States Institute of Peace building in Washington, D.C. The Donald Trump brand has long been a cornerstone of his public identity, and now, it will guide motorists across the entire width of the Sunshine State.
