Jimmy Kimmel Slams JD Vance For Defending Donald Trump’s Jesus Post

Jimmy Kimmel has blasted Vice President JD Vance for defending Donald Trump’s Jesus fiasco by calling it a harmless joke on air. The veteran comedian not only criticized Trump and Vance for offering different explanations of the AI-generated post but also highlighted the administration’s hypocrisy for conveniently switching its stance on comedy.

Jimmy Kimmel calls out JD Vance over Donald Trump’s Jesus post

The renowned late-night talk show host fired a shot at the Vice President on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, after he tried to pass the President’s Jesus photo as a joke.

In a recent sit-down with Fox News’ Special Report host Bret Baier, JD Vance shared his opinion on Donald Trump’s latest social media stunt. “I think the President was posting a joke, and of course, he took it down because he recognized that a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor in that case,” he noted. “I think the President of the United States likes to mix it up on social media.”

Trump had previously provided a clarification behind his Truth Social post. However, his reason differed vastly from Vance’s explanation, with the President stating that the AI-rendered photo was “supposed to be me as a doctor making people better.”

“He was posting a joke, you understand?” Jimmy Kimmel remarked on the April 14 episode of his show as he tore down Vance for defending the President.

Imitating the Vice President’s voice as he uttered the term “jokes,” Kimmel added, “And like all the best jokes, it had to be explained and then deleted. First, he was Jesus, then he wasn’t Jesus, he was a doctor, and now it was a joke. Why did I get kicked off the air again? I can’t remember. This White House cannot even keep their lies straight.”

Notably, Jimmy Kimmel was unceremoniously suspended in September 2025 for his comments regarding the Charlie Kirk assassination. Nevertheless, he swiftly made a return on air due to pressure from the public.
