President Donald Trump shared a new AI-generated image on Truth Social featuring Jesus again. This came just one day after he removed a different religiously themed post that had angered some Christian conservatives. However, this time, there’s a catch.

The new AI image shows Donald Trump with a microphone in front of him and Jesus’s arms around his shoulders as an American flag waves in the background. “The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!!” the president captioned it.
The Truth Social post comes on the heels of an earlier controversy when Trump shared an image that many interpreted as depicting him as Jesus Christ. The president removed that image on Monday following outcry from some of his staunchest religious allies.
Then Trump offered a different explanation for the original image’s meaning. “I viewed that as a picture of me being a doctor in fixing — you had the Red Cross right there, you had, you know, medical people surrounding me,” Trump told CBS News. He referenced what appeared to be a nurse in the image. “And I was like the doctor, you know, as a little fun playing the doctor and making people better.”
Trump expressed surprise at the negative reaction. “Normally I don’t like doing that, but I didn’t want to have anybody be confused,” he said when asked about removing the post. “People were confused.” House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana confirmed the next day that he personally urged the president to take down the original Jesus image. “I did ask him to delete it,” Johnson told reporters (via Politico).
Furthermore, Vice President JD Vance defended Trump’s actions as he characterized the original post as a “joke.” He told Fox News that Trump removed it “because he realized that a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor.”
The second AI image suggests President Trump remains undeterred by the initial backlash, though this version places Jesus alongside him as opposed to the earlier interpretation of him as Jesus.
