Donald Trump Makes Major Revelation About Past Presidents Losing Midterms

President Donald Trump has acknowledged the historical challenges his party faces in the upcoming midterms while insisting Republicans still have a way forward. In a recent Fox interview, Trump appeared to balance optimism with a reluctant acceptance of potential losses, as political indicators increasingly tilt against the GOP.

Donald Trump speaks about midterms in new interview

Speaking at a Fox interview, Donald Trump addressed concerns about Republicans potentially losing control of the White House. He pointed to a long-standing trend in American politics where the ruling party tends to lose seats during midterm elections.

“When somebody gets elected president, that party always loses the midterms. I don’t know why. I don’t know why. Nobody can explain it. I ask people who are deep into the psychological world. I said, ‘Why is it that a voter votes for the opposite party?’ even when you have a good president,” the POTUS stated. “It doesn’t make sense to me. So we’re going to try turning it around.”

Despite acknowledging this pattern, Trump maintained that Republicans could still perform well if they sharpened their messaging and better communicated what he described as the successes of his second term. “We have to explain to the voters, so importantly, the great job that we’ve done, because there’s no reason why the Republicans should be losing,” he said. Trump argued that his administration deserves more “credit,” citing his handling of border policies and claiming he has “ended” multiple conflicts globally.

The president also referenced what he called a strategic “detour” into Iran, stating it helped “stop something that could have destroyed the world,” and emphasized the need to convey such actions more effectively to voters. Furthermore, Trump warned that a Democratic victory in the midterm elections would reverse major Republican-backed policies. “These people, they’ll open up the borders again, they’ll have transgender for everybody. They’ll have men in women’s sports… And if people hear that, I don’t see how we lose the election.”

However, political forecasts suggest an uphill battle for Republicans.
