US Vice President JD Vance slammed the people who expressed issues with the way Erika Kirk acted following the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk. In a recent sit-down, the 41-year-old Republican opened up about the criticism Erika has faced since her spouse’s passing. He stated that anyone who targets the Turning Point USA CEO is “part of the problem, not part of the solution.”
JD Vance criticizes people who comment on Erika Kirk
The US Vice President made an appearance at the April 14 Turning Point USA event in Athens, Georgia. In the event, JD Vance passionately delivered a lengthy account against the critics of Erika Kirk.
“She’s trying to make sure that Charlie’s legacy doesn’t die,” Vance said as per The Economic Times. He further stated that “everybody is attacking her over everything, and they’re lying about her. It’s one of the most disgraceful things I have ever seen in public life.” He added, “I’ve seen a lot of crazy stuff in my life as a political leader.”
The US Vice President continued, “I was there with her, I was holding her hand, my wife was hugging her while we loaded Charlie’s body onto Air Force 2 and said the Lord’s prayer. The people telling you that Erika wasn’t grieving her husband are full of s***, and we need to be honest about that.”
JD Vance noted, “To say that Erika Kirk wasn’t grieving her husband on that day.” He continued,
“To say that Erika Kirk was somehow complicit in it, is so preposterous and so disgusting.” He added, “If you’re going after Erica Kirk and not the people who are trying to destroy the United States of America, you’re part of the problem, not part of the solution.”
The Vice President highlighted how grief can evoke different kinds of emotions before firing shots at Erika Kirk‘s critics again. “If your instinct is to go after a young mother because she’s grieving in a way that you find wrong, well, why don’t you stay in your lane and mind your own business,” he exclaimed.
Notably, Charlie Kirk’s widow was absent from the said Turning Point USA event due to “very serious threats” against her.
