Real Housewives of Beverly Hills sisters Kyle Richards and Kim Richards have had a rough time in recent years. It’s no secret that Kim has struggled with substance abuse issues for decades.
Kyle, alongside their older sister Kathy Hilton, has supported Kim for years, even buying a condo for her to live in. But things came to a head last year when Kyle sued Kim for eviction from that home. It was a last ditch effort to force Kim to seek help and get sober.
On the April 15 episode of Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi Mellencamp gave an explanation for the lawsuit.
The former RHOBH star thinks Kyle Richards supports sister Kim “financially”
“Yes, they did say, ‘You need to get help if you want us to keep paying for you,’” Teddi explained. “It’s a house that [Kyle] bought for Kim … I think Kyle supports Kim financially.”
In September 2024, Kyle decided to try some tough love. Hoping to force her sister to get some help, she took desperate measures.
On April 11, news broke that Kyle had filed a January 2025 lawsuit to remove Kim from Kyle’s Encino condo. Alleging that Kim had lived in the property for years, she had first been asked to leave in late 2024.
Kim never responded to the suit, so in March 2025, Kyle won by default. Kim was ordered to move out and eventually vacated the condo.
“Kyle has a good heart and will always end up saying yes [to help her sister],” Teddi added. “But this is from a really long time ago.”
“I think Kim, since then, has gotten better,” Teddi continued. “I mean, Kim is still well taken care of, like, come on.”
These days, the former child star lives in Florida. In October 2024, Kathy reported, “[Kim] is going through a tough time, [but] she’s doing better now.”
At the RHOBH Season 14 reunion in April 2025, Kyle confirmed Kim was living in Florida and “doing better.”
