White House Faces Backlash For New Donald Trump UFC-Related Post

A recent social media post by the White House featuring Donald Trump at a UFC event is receiving backlash. The stylized post that appears to cheer on unspecified “wins” quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions on the internet.

White House criticized over Donald Trump post

An X post made by the official account of the White House on April 20 has sparked controversy among netizens. It features a photo of Donald Trump at an UFC event, edited like an iPhone lock screen that has the “Do Not Disturb” menu on the top.

The post also included a caption that reads, “LOCKED IN MODE: ACTIVATED” followed by the U.S. national flag and a fire emoji. The caption continued, “It’s Monday. No excuses. Just wins,” along with an emoji of a bald eagle. The post did not mention what the “wins” entail. The reason behind the statement also remains unclear.

The White House post has since prompted several netizens and public figures to call out the Trump administration for boasting about the “wins.” Rick Wilson, a political consultant and member of the Republican Party, responded to the post, writing, “You haven’t won s**t lately.” Additionally, political commentator and long-time Trump critic, Ed Krassenstein, penned, “Please unlock it and let a Democrat take over,” referring to the iPhone wallpaper-themed photo of Trump.

Several other netizens have trolled the post as well, with one alluding to a recent NBC News poll that depicted Trump’s declining approval rating in his second term. According to the poll, 37% of adults taking part in the survey have approved of Trump as president, while 63% disapprove, marking the lowest rating at NBC News Decision Desk polling during his second term. Sharing an image of the poll result, the user added a caption, saying, “When does the winning start?” The White House has not made any statement to address the online backlash against the controversial post.
