Taylor Swift’s Deepfakes Are Expertly Scamming TikTok Users — Report

Taylor Swift deepfake ads have reportedly been used in “don’t overthink it” style pitches to push users toward suspicious rewards pages. The pop star is one of several celebrities whose likenesses appeared in AI-driven clips, according to a new report. The videos allegedly copied interview settings and promoted money-for-content programs. The concern grew after Swift took steps to protect her voice and image from AI misuse.

Scammers reportedly use AI videos Taylor Swift and other celebrities to trap users

As per Copyleaks, researchers found AI videos using Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna’s likenesses. The clips showed them in fake red-carpet, podcast, or talk-show settings. The company said the deepfakes used “video and audio” with realistic voices. However, textured filters appeared to hide some AI flaws. One fake ad featuring Swift promoted “TikTok Pay” and told users, “if the page opens for you, don’t overthink it.” Another fake clip of Rihanna claimed, “You literally just watch content and give your opinion.”

Meanwhile, the reported TikTok scam used official-looking TikTok branding after users clicked the ads. Copyleaks said users were then redirected to third-party pages. Those pages asked for names and personal details. The company also said some URLs and pages appeared to carry Lovable branding. The authentication company further said the ads promoted shady services. The scammers used celebrity credibility to make the offers look safer.

The deepfake concern also followed Swift’s recent trademark move. According to a Variety report, the singer’s company filed three trademark applications on April 24. Two covered voice phrases, including “Hey, it’s Taylor Swift” and “Hey, it’s Taylor.” The third filing involved a performance photo showing the “Love Story” hitmaker with a pink guitar.

Trademark attorney Josh Gerben noted that such filings could help future AI claims. Copyleaks advised users to check for strange facial movement, poor lip sync, warped backgrounds, and real sources. The TikTok scam showed how AI videos were now turning celebrity faces into data traps.
