A recent interview with the Jersey Shore cast has sparked some serious concern for Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. The longtime MTV star was seemingly nodding off while the cast discussed the final season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, and fans are worried that it wasn’t a simple case of drowsiness.
People think something could be wrong with Ronnie, and now, his co-star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has weighed in. Let’s just say he dumped a whole lot of fuel on those rumors.

The interview in question happened on April 21 at SiriusXM headquarters, and fortunately, r/jerseyshoreuncensored got a screen grab.
In the video, Deena Cortese talked to interviewers about MTV pulling the plug on their show. Meanwhile, Ron was stealing all of the focus in the background. He appeared to nod off, swaying in his chair. Fans thought he looked unwell or possibly under the influence of something.
There’s no other known evidence that Ron was actually under the influence, but Mike took to his Instagram and addressed the rumors. With a decade of sobriety under his belt, he felt like it was necessary to publicly address the situation ahead of the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 9 premiere.
“I want to be clear that I am not responsible for the actions of any other cast member,” Mike began in an Instagram statement.
He continued, “At the same time, my heart is heavy seeing what Ron, a grown adult, chose to present during press. This situation is still developing as we speak, and I don’t yet know the full extent of what he may be going through — but I do know it is separate from my path, and I will help where I can, including through my organization, The Archangel Centers.”
Mike went on to say that he reached out to Ron directly but had not heard back at the time. Still, he made clear he would be there if Ron needed his support.
As Jersey Shore fans know, Ron has publicly navigated a few issues over the last few years. He previously stepped away from TV following a series of domestic violence arrests. He returned for a shocking on-screen reunion with his ex-girlfriend Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola.
Last month, he wound up involved in another domestic incident, though his reps clarified that Ron himself called the police. He had broken up with his girlfriend and wanted officers present while she moved out.
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation returns to MTV for the final season on Thursday, May 7 at 8/7c.
