Donald Trump signed a proclamation to revive the Presidential Physical Fitness Award on Tuesday. In celebration of the move, the president invited many young athletes and students to the White House. During the event, Trump joined the children in the South Lawn, where they participated in exercise drills.
At one point, Trump showed off his signature dance moves as well, which include energetic fist pumps and some footwork. Several photos have captured the president engaging in the fun activity with all the kids.
Trump had previously shared that the First Lady, Melania Trump, is not a fan of his dance moves. Speaking at The Villages retirement community in Florida, the president shared, “You know, she’s a very elegant woman. She goes, ‘Darling, please don’t dance. It’s not presidential.”
Amid the enjoyment, Trump also delivered a speech in the Oval Office for the children, where he mentioned the Iran war. The president explained the ongoing conflict, which has yet to reach a peace agreement.
“We can’t let Iran have a nuclear weapon. You might be too young for this,” Trump addressed the students. He added, “They probably know. They probably know better than most people, but you can’t let a bunch of lunatics have a nuclear weapon, or the world would be in trouble. The world would be in trouble.”
The POTUS continued, implying that the U.S. wouldn’t exist if it hadn’t been for the Iran war. “We would have had a ran Iran with a nuclear weapon, and maybe we wouldn’t all be here right now, I can tell you, the Middle East would have been gone,” Trump stated. “Israel would have been gone, and they would have trained their sights on Europe first and then us, because they’re sick people,” he added.
