Dr. Alex McCord has come a long way since her days on the Real Housewives of New York. Decades on from her legendary time on the reality TV series, she just graduated with a PhD and celebrated with her husband, Simon van Kempen … but, did she wear her iconic Herman Munster shoes for the occasion?
Luann de Lesseps is feeling like “a proud housewife right now”
Taking to Instagram on May 7, RHONY alum Alex shared the happy news that she has graduated with a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of New England in Australia.
“At long last, celebrating my PhD graduation!!!” she told her 87.3K followers. “Degree conferred last year and SO proud to walk the stage this week.”
Alex went on: “Thanks to my family for putting up with me the last three years and joining me for the party.” To that, Simon replied with a comment. “I could not be more proud [or] more in awe of Alex and her amazing smarts,” he said. “Her being a damn fine human working to make life better for others. She’s wow just wow!”
Alex’s family members weren’t the only ones celebrating her big moment, however. In the comment section, her former co-stars and fans of the show also cheered her on.
“Congratulations! I am such a proud housewife right now,” said Luann de Lesseps. “Congratulations!!!!!!” echoed disgraced Bravoleb, Jill Zarin.
“So incredible!! Your growth and persistence are amazing,” commented a fan. “Way to go and a fab thing to do,” added another.
Elsewhere in the comments section, one RHONY viewer used Alex’s degree to throw some not-so-subtle shade at her former co-stars. “I think Kelly could be your first client … followed by Dorinda, Ramona, and the rest,” they said.
