Meghan Markle Giving NBC Same Treatment She Gave Vanity Fair — Source

Meghan Markle could reportedly “blacklist” NBC after a SNL joke became viral. A source claimed that she might give the broadcasting network the same treatment that she gave Vanity Fair after its January 2025 exposé.

The news came after comedian Colin Jost took a dig at King Charles’ United States visit on “Saturday Night Live.” He allegedly referred to the Duchess of Sussex as an ”American terrorist.” This might have pushed Markle to distance herself from the network.

Meghan Markle is putting NBC on ‘permanent blacklist’ after SNL joke, claims source

Meghan Markle might not be happy with NBC after a recent SNL joke. In a new episode of “Saturday Night Live,” host Colin Jost joked about King Charles’ visit to the U.S. He quipped, “[The monarch] seeks the release of a British hostage being held by an American terrorist.” Furthermore, a photo of Prince Harry and his wife was displayed on the screen.

This didn’t reportedly land well with the Duchess of Sussex, according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. A source claimed that Markle didn’t find the joke funny; instead, she felt “publicly humiliated.” “She sees this as deliberate, cheap, and personal — and once she feels mocked, she shuts the door,” they added.

Reportedly, the mother of two has put NBC on a “permanent blacklist.” Another insider mentioned that Markle would allegedly “cut off access” if she felt “attacked.” Moreover, they compared the SNL incident to the 2025 Vanity Fair article.

The magazine had released a highly critical piece titled, “American Hustle: Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Big Business Ambitions.” Referring to the past incident, the source mentioned, “[Markle] distanced herself from Vanity Fair after coverage turned, and now NBC is getting the same treatment.”

Earlier, a report suggested that the “Suits” alum has reportedly been backed by a strong group of affluent women in the industry. From her leaving the United Kingdom to building a life in California, the four major “power players” allegedly helped her a lot. They are TV star Oprah Winfrey, former Starbucks chair Mellody Hobson, TV producer/creator Shonda Rhimes, and diplomat Nicole Avant.
