Nicola Peltz’s dad, billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, seemingly saved her from being drawn deeper into a messy legal dispute by quietly settling a lawsuit involving the family’s pit bull, according to the Daily Mail.
Nicola Peltz spared after rich father settles housekeeper’s lawsuit
Brooklyn Beckham‘s wife, Nicola Peltz, had reportedly been expected to sit for a video deposition as part of the case before the legal battle suddenly ended. Former housekeeper Mileydis Morejon brought the lawsuit against Nelson Peltz after alleging she was attacked multiple times by the family dog, Houdini, while working at the Peltz estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2023.
Houdini was reportedly gifted to Nelson by Nicola several years ago after the actress co-founded the rescue organization Yogi’s House.
Court filings reportedly stated Nicola Peltz had “knowledge of the subject incident,” although it remained unclear whether she personally witnessed the alleged encounters or was informed about them afterwards. Her planned deposition was later canceled once the settlement was finalized.
The lawsuit had reportedly been ongoing for nearly a year and a half after first being filed in December 2024. However, attorneys for Morejon submitted a notice of settlement to the Palm Beach County Circuit Court on April 30. The case was officially dismissed several days later, on May 5.
Although Morejon initially sought damages exceeding $75,000, the financial details tied to the settlement have not been publicly released.
According to the Daily Mail, Morejon claimed Houdini behaved aggressively during several alleged incidents at the property. In court documents, the former housekeeper also accused the dog of ripping her clothing, knocking her down, and once forcing her to hide inside a room after allegedly attempting to attack her.
The lawsuit also alleged Morejon suffered injuries to her neck, knees, and back that later required pain-management procedures.
Meanwhile, Nelson Peltz’s attorneys reportedly denied liability throughout the case. His legal team allegedly argued that a “Beware of the Dog” sign posted at the property entrance reduced responsibility for the incidents. Lawyers also reportedly claimed Morejon worked through an outside security company and was not directly employed by the Peltz family.
With the settlement now finalized and the case officially dismissed, Nicola has avoided what could have been an uncomfortable and very public deposition.
