According to royal aides, Kate Middleton has been eagerly looking forward to her Italy trip. The aides told PEOPLE, she is feeling “energized,” “enthused,” and “excited” about her mission to support children. This time is “really significant moment for her,” as it marks her first global tour after announcing her cancer diagnosis in 2024. The mother of three is taking “up a gear” to further the mission for the development of children.
“[This visit] is an important step in the princess’s recovery journey. She takes great joy from this work,” said a royal aide. The individual further highlighted that it’s “right that her first international trip since her illness is one that is focused on an issue that is committed to championing for decades to come and is a real issue that she wants to shine a spotlight on.” Those close to Middleton have allegedly said that she has become more determined following her recovery.
The source stated that the royal is “looking forward to being here, she’s energized, she’s enthused.” Moreover, Middleton is “excited to see Reggio Emilia in action and meet the people here too.” Her team called the trip extraordinary while not sharing details of the future of the global mission. “She wants to look at other models around the world and really create a global conversation,” an aide noted.
