Robert Downey Jr. Stuns Viewers With Unexpected NewsNation Takeover

Robert Downey Jr. surprises viewers with his unexpected NewsNation takeover. Downey Jr. crashed Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation broadcast on Tuesday, May 12 evening. Not only that, the Iron Man star declared that they were the “best in the business.”

Robert Downey Jr. revealed himself to be the surprise guest on last night’s NewsNation broadcast. Chris Cuomo began with a little speech and declared next. One of his colleagues remarked, “You know what, it’s a little different tonight. There is actually somebody in the control room tonight.” At that moment, the Iron Man star appeared in front of the camera.

The Marvel star remarked, “What’s up, dude? You were not expecting this were you?” Cuomo quipped, “Is that Aquaman?” To which Downey Jr. simply gave a peculiar expression, making the studio audience laugh in response.

The 61-year-old actor remarked, “I bring him to dinner. I press that shirt because I knew you were running late. I love NewsNation and think you’re the best in the business. I’ve been here in the control room watching how you guys get it done. I love it.”

Continuing further, Downey Jr. shared, “You are loved. All I watch is NewsNation. I want to thank everyone here for keeping it fair and balanced. And it’s been really great. Hey, I came from the Disney Upfront, and then I came here. I’ve known you for years. You’ve been a great friend of mine forever, and I just wanted to come and see y’all do your thing, and I’m very impressed.”

To which Cuomo replied, “Robert, I love you and thank you for all the matching shades of green you wear, and I’m happy you were here.” However, the Iron Man star, known for his wicked sense of humor, joked that he is announcing his candidacy for mayor of New York City.

Finally, Downey Jr. declared, “I’m announcing my candidacy for mayor of New York City.” The trio ended the segment with laughter and jokes.
