Royal family watchers think they spotted a subtle but striking change inside King Charles’ Highgrove residence. A framed photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that once sat on display inside the royal home now appears to be missing.
Naturally, the internet noticed almost immediately.
Did King Charles remove a photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from his room?
According to Hello! Magazine, royal photographer Chris Jackson recently shared photos from inside Highgrove on Instagram. The images showed several family pictures displayed inside one of the rooms at Charles’ Gloucestershire estate.
One snap featured King Charles standing alongside Prince William and Prince Harry. Another showed the King holding Prince Louis. But longtime royal watchers quickly pointed out something missing from the display. A framed photo from Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding no longer appeared on the table.
That caught attention because influencer Lydia Millen previously filmed inside Highgrove in 2024, and the Sussex wedding portrait could clearly be seen among Charles’ family photos at the time.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Highgrove representatives have publicly commented on the apparent decor change.
For the unversed, Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the monarchy dramatically shifted after the couple stepped away from royal duties in 2020 before relocating to California. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have repeatedly spoken publicly about their struggles inside the institution through interviews, documentaries, and Harry’s memoir “Spare.”
In the book, Harry alleged that Prince William physically attacked him during an argument involving Meghan. As per the Guardian, the Duke also claimed William described his wife as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive,” which Harry said reflected negative media narratives surrounding the former actress.
Charles reportedly wants to reconnect with Harry and spend more time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The renewed interest comes as speculation grows that the Sussexes could return to the U.K. this summer.
According to The News Digital, Harry and Meghan may travel to Britain in July for an Invictus Games event. However, Harry is reportedly worried about how Meghan would be received by both the public and the royal family. Reports claim possible “clear-the-air” conversations with the King could happen before the visit moves forward.
