The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright ‘Still Working on Losing Weight’ Amid ‘Intense’ Body Shaming

The Valley star Brittany Cartwright is sharing about how hard it is to deal with body shamers amid her ongoing efforts to lose weight.

“It’s been really hard lately,” Brittany said on her When Reality Hits podcast. “I’ve noticed it so much more recently. Looking back on the first couple of episodes of The Valley, I had definitely gained weight. I’ve lost weight since we filmed this season.”

Britt has been open about her weight struggle since giving birth to her and estranged husband Jax Taylor’s son Cruz in 2021. It’s not easy to focus on weight loss when you’re dealing with an ongoing divorce, while also caring for a child with special needs.

The Bravo star doesn’t “understand” the online hate

According to the Kentucky native, the stress of her divorce affected her weight in ways she didn’t talk about on the show. But what surprised her was the “intense” hate on social media.

“I’m still working on losing weight,” she shared. “But the body shaming and everything has just been so intense this year. I don’t understand it … I don’t know why people are attacking me so hard.”

In addition to the weight fluctuations, Brittany suffered an arm injury last year that prevented her working out. Fortunately, since it’s healed, she’s been able to return to her fitness routine.

“I am dieting,” she added. “I’ve already lost eight pounds since you guys even saw me on Watch What Happens Live [on April 15].”

Since completing filming on The Valley Season 3, Brittany underwent a “mommy makeover.” Not only did she have her previous breast implants replaced by new, smaller implants, but she also had a tummy tuck. She’s proud to now have a “flat stomach” and “awesome boobs.”

In addition, she’s looking forward to filming the Season 3 reunion with her new look. “I’m going to come out like [Ariana Madix] at the reunion this year,” she predicted.

The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock the next day.
