How Fans Reacted to Bravo’s New Summer House Spinoff In The City

Summer House fans shared some pretty great reactions to last night’s debut of Bravo’s spinoff series, In The City. These fans took their thoughts online, ranging from the silly to the sad, as Episode 1 streamed. And these are a collection of their responses.

Kyle Cooke’s “comedic timing” was a highlight for some viewers

Featuring the introduction of several new cast members, including Lindsay Hubbard’s daughter, Gemma, plus a divorce announcement and a sit-down following a scandal that broke the internet only a few months ago, the debut episode of In The City was all that and more. The fans (mostly) agreed. On X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, these fans quickly weighed in both during and after the airing of Episode 1.

Following an intense couples therapy session, Kyle Cooke told his ex, Amanda Batula, that she “shouldn’t be wearing a raincoat in the summer.” But Amanda promptly shut him down. She argued, “It’s not a raincoat! Yes, Kyle. It’s fashion! Look it up!”

Well, the fans loved this bit. “You’re wearing a raincoat in the summer” is up there with “you 6 foot 5 motherf*cker” cause the comedic timing of Kyle’s one-liners is INSANEEE,” one fan posted. In the comments, another viewer agreed, noting, “Back to back lines. Kyle was on it.”

Meanwhile, several spectators missed Carl Radke. “Why didn’t Bravo cast Carl for #InTheCity? I feel like he should’ve been there,” one poster stressed. But as another pointed out, perhaps “Lindsay hadn’t [forgiven] him at the time. So she probably didn’t want her ex there.”

Furthermore, a blogger noted, the transitions were solid, effortlessly blending these series. And, most importantly, “Gemma is on our side regarding Amanda,” another poster penned, attaching an image of Lindsay’s daughter in her stroller, expertly side-eyeing Amanda.

Season 1 of In The City continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo, with episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock. Part 1 of the Summer House reunion airs Tuesday, May 26, at 8/7c on Bravo and hits Peacock the next day.
