Erin Napier Credits Homeschooling for ‘Slowing Down’ Daughters’ Childhood

Erin Napier opened up about homeschooling her daughters and how it “slowed down” their childhood. The HGTV host recently shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, featuring a few of the home lessons she had with her kids. Furthermore, she encouraged parents who might be “afraid” of choosing this option for their children. For those unversed, the TV personality has two daughters, Mae, 4, and Helen, 8, with her husband, Ben Napier.

Erin Napier says homeschooling helped ‘slow down’ daughters’ childhood

Erin Napier explained why she believes homeschooling her daughters was the right decision. On May 20, she shared 18 photos in a post featuring some of her children’s home lessons. “Somehow, we did it! 2nd grade / k-4 are [green tick],” she started her caption. Then, the 40-year-old urged parents to homeschool and encouraged those who are “afraid” to do so.

“You can find 2 hours a day and ‘open and go’ curricula, you can do it,” Napier wrote. Furthermore, she mentioned how “happy” her daughters have become. Homeschooling seemingly helped her children become “so good at communicating with all ages and types of people.”

“And we feel like we soaked up every moment of growing up they did, instead of feeling shocked by it each passing week. We found the hack to slow down childhood. It’s not for everyone, but it was medicine for our whole family this year,” the caption read.

Meanwhile, viewers have appreciated Napier for sharing her experience in the comment section. A user thanked her for teaching her daughters “script,” which has been a “lost art.” Another commented, “Cursive writing in 2nd grade!!!! That is very impressive!!! Love it!” Many were curious about the curriculum that Napier has been following. Moreover, the post has garnered over 25K likes as of this writing.

Earlier this year, in April, the “Home Town” star openly talked about homeschooling on social media through her post. She shared her doubts and hesitations before choosing this option.
