As Southern Charm Season 12 resumes filming, the show’s crankiest cast member seems to be MIA.
Apparently, the feud Craig Conover started with his castmates last season seems to be ongoing. As a result, Shep Rose, Austen Kroll and Whitney Sudler-Smith are filming without the Sewing Down South founder.
Whitney’s mom, matriarch Patricia Altschul, posted an Instagram video earlier this week sharing a “prelude” to her annual guys’ dinner. In the video, she and Shep tease that it will be a “smaller table” this year. Does that mean Craig is a no-show? Or was he even invited?

Fans definitely noticed Craig’s absence at the table. In the comments section, one fan asked, “Where’s Craig??”
In response, Patricia wrote, “We were filming for a particular reason … you’ll see why.”
Though she didn’t offer any spoilers, fans speculated that Craig’s absence might be due to his prickly behavior last season. He basically fought with everybody, including Whitney. But not only is Whitney a friend and cast member, he’s also the show’s creator and executive producer.
Although there has been no formal announcement about Craig, Miss Pat has posted other photos with him since production began. But fans are wondering if something happened that caused Craig to finally peace out. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be the first time his bad behavior got him kicked out of a social event.
As a matter of fact, Craig and his former bestie Austen have been feuding for years. Craig was grilled at the Season 11 reunion for not only fighting with Austen, but for the nasty way he treated Salley Carson.
Though he reportedly questioned whether he wanted to return to the show, Craig posted a TikTok video with Madison LeCroy when production picked up for Season 12. As always, fans will just have to wait and see what develops when Season 12 begins airing in November 2026.
